An Elk Grove Village letter to the editor: In today's society of political correctness, if you say anything xenophobic, transphobic, misogynist, Islamophobic, anti-woke, anti-Semitic or anti-whatever, the media will excoriate you, but the media will not do the same for remarks that are anti-Catholic.

In today's society of political correctness, if you say anything xenophobic, transphobic, misogynist, Islamophobic, anti-woke, anti-Semitic or anti-whatever, the media will excoriate you, but the media will not do the same for remarks that are anti-Catholic.

Instead, scandals seen in Catholics are reported loudly while similar scandals in other groups are not reported at all. The media has seemingly forgotten that every single day the Catholic Church feeds more people, houses more people, clothes more people, visits more imprisoned people, takes care of more sick people, and educates more people than any other institution on planet Earth.

Everything that's good about modern health care, including hospitals, emerged from the religious order of the Church. Today we take education for granted, but there would be far fewer educated people today if it were not for the Catholic Church's introduction of education systems. Prior to that, education was only for the upper class, so the middle and lower classes were not getting formal education.

It is true that most institutions have some bad apples, so before you disparage the entire Church for those few bad apples, try to remember: No other institution in history has fed, housed, clothed, educated, and cared for the sick more so than the Catholic Church.

Letter: Even with our greatest patriots fighting alongside us, maximum peril for our republic is nighLetter: Even with our greatest patriots fighting alongside us, maximum peril for our republic is nighBeware! Our worst fears are real. It’s Mickey Mouse, lurking just around the corner, waiting for us to let our guard down. Behind him is a nerdy guy with a pocket-protector from the health department, ready to take away the freedoms we nearly lost during the fake pandemic. Close on his heels is the most evil of all: a school librarian with her hair in a bun. All of them waiting; ever patiently waiting. We have heard that Minnie is there, too, ready to fight with the BLM guerrilla regiment. All woke, every one.
