East Bay Times Letters to the Editor for May 19, 2023
I enjoyed reading the opinions, both pro and con, regarding the park’s construction of bike-specific trails in Briones East Bay Regional Park.
This beautiful state is seeing a horrible time, and I don’t really see changes for the better. The leaders are not results-oriented. Our tax money is thrown at various projects with no positive outcome. The homeless numbers are growing. The roads really don’t seem to be fixed even with SB1. More prisons are closed to help with the budget, but where are the inmates going? I feel as a lifelong resident that the criminals have more rights than law-abiding citizens.
With the Infrastructure Act, the Inflation Reduction Act, the CHIPS and Science Act, and the PACT Act, Biden has done more in two years for the middle class, seniors, veterans and the working poor than anything Donald Trump did in his four years. Biden’s programs are also paid for with a 15% minimum tax on corporations making over a billion dollars in profits each year.
