We need political leaders who are willing to act based on what is right and in the best interest of all the people without the fear of the extreme elements of their party. Just as important, here’s what he would express in his own impressive way — it’s time for the nation to come together. Blue state, red state, rural or metropolitan, liberal or conservative, rich or poor, religious or not, young or old, and any possible sexual orientation, we are all Americans who believe in freedom, justice and liberty for all.
Along with the ego, hubris and narcissism of many recent billionaires, Bankman-Fried has exposed his ignorance and trashed the value of being well-read and discounted the knowledge gained by being widely read. I am less concerned about one billionaire’s lack of reading than I am about many of our elected leaders’ and candidates’ lack of wisdom. Wisdom that can be gained by reading and thinking about a wide range of subjects, both nonfiction and fiction.
I read this article with dismay. After much deliberation and negotiation earlier this year, you would expect further negotiation to be smooth. But not! And reading on, I cannot believe any employer of this organization’s size would not have paid sick leave; or that a union would accept any contract without paid leave.
