My prayer is that my faith and that of others remain a private affair, not to be forced on all children. Anyone, any child, can pray any time he or she wants, in school and out of school. What in the world is happening in Texas? Chaplains in public schools instead of licensed counselors? What kind of chaplain? Catholic? Baptist? Methodist? Jewish? Scientologist?

As an outsider, I am thankful that the measure was voted down. An airport expansion for commercial airlines has a regional impact. Folks in Fairview, Lucas and part of Allen should have had a say in the matter. McKinney officials ignored the impact on its neighbors and proceeded full speed ahead, alienating a large number of locals who banded together with McKinney residents to fight the expansion.
