The towns without power are concentrated in southern Monmouth County.
Four towns in southern Monmouth County were almost entirely without power for hours Monday morning with widespread outages also hitting other towns in the county.were experiencing outages as of 11:15 a.m., fewer than 6,000 were still without power at 2:15 p.m., the JCP&L outage tracker shows.
The cause of the problem is under investigation and JCP&L doesn’t have an estimated time for full restoration.Almost all of Manasquan, Sea Girt Spring Lake, Spring Lake Heights had no power as of 11 a.m.The county’s most populous municipality — Middletown — also had more than 3,700 outages late Monday morning. That accounted for about 14% of customers.
In addition, the Manasquan school district said it will dismiss all students by noon due to the outages.
