Former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) claimed Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) should not have a security clearance on Thursday after Greene appeared to defend the suspected Pentagon document leaker.

Twenty-one-year-old Jack Teixeira was arrested on Thursday after hundreds of classified documents were leaked from the Pentagon. He appeared in a Massachusetts court on Friday, where he was charged under the Espionage Act with unauthorized retention and transmission of national defense information and unauthorized removal of classified information and defense materials. In response to his arrest, Greene posted a lengthy message on Twitter.

The Republican firebrand added that"The National Guardsman that released these Pentagon papers is simply blowing the whistle on what is really taking place at the DOD, yet he’s being treated like a traitor and criminal. It’s the Biden Admin and the DOD who are acting like criminals. They’re the ones who should be held accountable to the American people because of what they’re doing in Ukraine.

Marjorie Taylor Greene makes clear yet again that she cannot be trusted with America’s national security information and should not have a security clearance of any kind. https://t.co/8RtX3XxMmYIn a separate tweet on the document leak, Greene noted that the suspected leaker"is white, male, christian, and antiwar."
