Long-anticipated $107M Hyatt Regency convention center set to open in Conroe
$107 million hotel and convention center is schedule to open in Conroe this month in what area leaders hope will foment more business and conference tourism in the growing suburb north of Houston.
“Conroe continues to be on the top rank in our fastest growing cities,” Intriago said. And with about 1,000 homes around the hotel site, and more businesses opening up nearby, “there’s not a lot of hotels that could serve that market.”, Intriago anticipates that the project will lure business and leisure travelers, particularly those who don't want to travel to downtown Houston. Hyatt Regency has already started booking some business conferences and events, he said.
