A Malaysia n man who dedicated over a decade of his life to supporting his family in Singapore has tragically passed away from injuries sustained in a road accident on the Seletar Expressway (SLE) in June. Soserv Welfare, a non-profit organization, announced on Friday, August 22nd, that 32-year-old Jiahuang from Ipoh, Perak, succumbed to his injuries after over a month of treatment in the hospital.

Jiahuang, who worked in the food and beverage industry in Singapore, was critically injured on June 25th while riding his motorcycle to work with his girlfriend, Yingying. According to his younger brother, Jia Sing, the accident occurred when a car in front abruptly braked due to an earlier incident on the expressway. Jiahuang, unable to stop in time, collided with the car, throwing both him and Yingying off the motorcycle. \Jia Sing described the horrifying scene, recounting his brother landing unconscious on the road, his body severely bleeding. Yingying managed to crawl over to him, desperately checking for any sign of life, only to find him unresponsive with blood streaming from his face. Tragically, Jiahuang suffered a brain hemorrhage, along with multiple fractures to his face, neck, and shoulder. He underwent three major surgeries – one to stop the bleeding in his brain, another to drain fluid buildup, and a third to repair the fractures. Despite these efforts, he remained in a coma until his untimely death. \Police confirmed receiving a report at approximately 5:15 am on June 25th regarding an accident involving a motorcycle and two cars on the SLE heading towards the Central Expressway. The 31-year-old male rider, Jiahuang, was taken to the hospital in a coma, while his 37-year-old female passenger, Yingying, was hospitalized in a conscious state. Jiahuang's story is one of dedication and sacrifice, having shouldered the responsibility of being the breadwinner for his family from a young age. Raised in a single-parent household as the eldest of six siblings, he moved to Singapore at the age of 19 to work and alleviate the financial strain on his father. His younger brother, Jia Sing, expressed the immense burden his brother carried, writing, 'Every day, my eldest brother wakes up before dawn and rides his motorbike from Singapore to work – not because it’s easy, but because he's always carried the weight of our family on his shoulders.
