The 27-year-old man was arrested for his suspected involvement in two cases of loanshark harassment.

The police said in a statement that they were alerted to a case of loanshark harassment at a residential unit at Marsiling Crescent.

An unknown liquid, believed to be kerosene, was splashed at the doorway of the unit and a debtor's note was left at the said doorway.Preliminary investigations disclosed that the man is allegedly involved in another case of loanshark harassment along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 A debtor note was seized as case exhibit.The offence of loanshark harassment carries a fine between $5,000 and $50,000, up to five years' jail and up to six strokes of the cane for first time offenders.

Members of the public are advised to stay away from loansharks and not to work with or assist them in any way.
