A man has admitted to trying to hire a hitman online to retaliate against a 14-year-old child pornography victim whose parents reported him to the police, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger said Thursday. John Michael Musbach, 31, of Haddonfield, pleaded guilty in Camden federal court Thursday to paying $20,000 in Bitcoin in the murder-for-hire plot, prosecutors said.
Musbach exchanged sexually explicit photos and videos with a victim from New York, who was 13 years old at the time, during the summer of 2015, officials said. The teen’s parents then found out about the exchange and contacted local police, authorities said.
