A 38-year-old man has been arrested for his suspected involvement in a case of attempted robbery, the police said in a statement on Monday .

The police were alerted to a case of attempted robbery at a minimart located along Lorong 1 Toa Payoh on Saturday at about 8.10am. Preliminary investigations revealed that a man armed with a knife had attempted to rob a victim manning the minimart alone.Officers established the man's identity and arrested him within five hours of the report.The man will be charged in court on Monday with the offence of attempted robbery.The police said they will spare no effort to arrest those who commit violent crimes.

When confronted with a robbery, members of the public are advised to remain calm, take note of the perpetrator's physical appearance and distinctive features and call for the police as soon as possible.
