The man – whose identity and age was not known – was shot around 6 p.m. near South 19th and Holly streets, where approximately 20 people were gathered to mourn the death of Marion Holmes, 18, police and neighbors say.
A source close to the investigation told PennLive initial reports described the shooter as a masked individual on foot who fired towards the group at the memorial. Neighbors said they heard multiple gunshots and then came outside and saw the man lying on the ground. Emergency responders tried to save his life, but he later died at a hospital.Anyone who has information regarding the shooting is asked to call the Dauphin County Dispatch Center at 717-558-6900.
Detectives are investigating the homicide, but did not mention any arrests made.
