Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the man's murder, and anyone with information was asked to contact the SFPD at 415 575-4444.
San Francisco Police Department officers were called just before 3:55 p.m. on Friday the area of Third Street and Palou Avenue, near the Bayview Opera House, on reports of the shooting and found the victim down with injuries at the scene, according to a department statement.
The man was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he was later pronounced dead. His name was not released pending notification of his next of kin. Authorities were investigating the circumstances surrounding the man's death, and no suspect descripition was available.
