Sheriff Christopher Swanson said that Casey Autry Kidd had a “dangerous criminal history.”
Swanson said deputies believed the dogs were used in a potential dogfighting ring, according to“The dogs had scars and were in multiple stages of injuries they were involved in dog fighting,” the sheriff said.reported.
Swanson said that a Boston terrier -- and perhaps some of the other dogs -- were used as “bait” for dog fighting, according to the newspaper. The dogs that survived were in poor health, Swanson said. One was found restrained so tightly that the animal was unable to move. “That’s a hard chain that’s wrapped around all those sticks,” Swanson said, showing a photograph of one animal. “That dog can’t move.”
