Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr has slapped a ban on Philippine offshore gaming operators during his third State of the Nation Address. He ordered online casinos to stop their offshore gaming operations by the end of the year.
Mr Marcos accused the firms of engaging in illegal activity, including financial scams and human trafficking. Mr Marcos also addressed tensions in the South China Sea. He said the Philippines "cannot yield" in territorial disputes, but added that Manila remains willing to work with China. Buena Bernal reports.
