A chase ensued when deputies tried to stop a Chevrolet Tahoe on southbound Highway 101 near Marin City.
The driver then got out and ran, but deputies tracked him down with help from a CHP dog and helicopter, the sheriff’s department said. Deputies determined the Tahoe had been stolen from San Leandro, and they found suspected burglary tools in the car suited to stealing catalytic converters.
Jose Martin Flores, 26, of Oakland was booked into the Marin County Jail on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle, possessing burglary tools and felony evasion. He remained in jail Monday in lieu of $35,000 bail.
