On the Republican ticket for Monroe County executive is Mark Assini, who sat down with 13WHAM ahead of Election Day to talk about where he stands on issues.

And, there are a lot of things Assini wants to do. After eight years as Gates Town Supervisor, he left public office in 2018 to return to the private sector. He said he already has several faith leaders on board, and shared additional plans to change attitudes toward law enforcement in an effort to boost recruitment.
He believes there are not enough local resources to help people dealing with substance use disorder. He points to his work to establish Gates to Recovery, a nonprofit treatment facility, during his time leading the Town of Gates.
