More than fifty on-set VFX workers at Marvel filed a petition Monday to unionize under IATSE, citing unreasonable expectations and an untenable work environment.

“Just because you can, as a streamer or a network, play the show as much as you want, doesn’t mean you should,” she told. “Meaning, yes, they’re going to get as much milk out of the cows as they could because it’s legal. We signed a contract. Does it mean we should be exploited? It means when you get a ratings bump or something happens, you should share. Networks and streamers have been exploiting people for too long.

Marvel's VFX workers have indicated they'd like the election for IATSE representation to be held as early as August 21. “We are witnessing an unprecedented wave of solidarity that’s breaking down old barriers in the industry and proving we’re all in this fight together. That doesn’t happen in a vacuum,” said IATSE international presidentin a statement. “Entertainment workers everywhere are sticking up for each other’s rights, that’s what our movement is all about.
