A Maryland man has been accused of rape, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Xavier Jermaine Harris, 22, of North Beach Maryland is accused of sexually assaulting a victim on Aug. 17 at off campus housing near Shippensburg University on Morningstar Lane in Shippensburg Township, Cumberland County, state police said. Harris and the victim were students at Shippensburg University at the time, police said.

Harris was charged with multiple felony accounts including rape, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault without consent, aggravated indecent assault and unlawful restraint.A preliminary hearing is set for May 11.
