McCarthy says still far apart with Biden but deal possible by end of week
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy told reporters on Tuesday that he and President Joe Biden are still far apart in debt-ceiling talks, as he exited their latest meeting on the issue at the White House. But the California Republican also said it’s possible to get a deal by the end of the week.
