Duchess Meghan is accusing Buckingham Palace of feeding negative stories about her to the British press, thereby fueling the criticism of her while protecting the rest of the royals.trailer yet, released by Netflix today, Meghan, her lawyer, and her close friend speak about the palace's alleged move to use Meghan as a shield to block other family members from being attacked by the local media.
"There was a real king of war against Meghan, and I've certainly seen evidence that there was negative briefing from the palace against Harry and Meghan to suit other people's agendas," Meghan and Prince Harry's lawyer, Jenny Afia, says. "Meg became this scapegoat for the palace, and so they would feed stories on her, whether they were true or not, to avoid other less favorable stories being printed," the Duchess of Sussex's friend Lucy Fraser, says.from the docuseries—seemingly saying that the palace lied to protect Prince William and Princess Kate over him and Meghan—the accusations against the royals had been somewhat vague until now.
"You would just see it play out. Like a story about someone in the family would pop up for a minute and they'd go, 'We gotta make that go away,'" Meghan says in the teaser, speaking of the palace. "But there's real estate on a website homepage. There is real estate there on a newspaper front cover, and something has to be filled in there about someone royal.
