Met Eireann has issued an update on thunderstorms hitting Ireland following brutal weather conditions on Monday.
The weather alert has now passed and at the time of writing Met Eireann hasn't issued any more warnings.But the forecaster says there is more rain and thunder on the way over the coming days, as well as sunny spells.A Met Eireann forecaster said: "A mix of cloud and sunny spells with showers becoming widespread and turning heavy through the morning.
"Tonight, the heavy showers and thunderstorms will ease, becoming mostly confined to northern and Atlantic coastal areas though isolated showers may continue further inland. "A clearance to drier conditions with better sunshine will gradually build from the west through the day with the showers becoming mostly confined to southern and eastern counties. Highest temperatures of 18 to 22 degrees in mostly light westerly winds.
