Notice applies to Wicklow, Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo from 10pm to 11am Wednesday

Temperatures are expected to fall to as low as -1 degrees with winds making it feel even colder as a polar air mass moves across Ireland. Counties unaffected by the warning can expect cold and blustery conditions over the days ahead with the risk of showers of hail. In its weather report for March, Met Éireann said dry and settled weather seen at the end of February broke at the beginning of the month and led to wet and windy conditions.
