Mexico urges Washington to rethink its migration policy after road accident killed 55 migrants on a transit route to the US
The death toll is likely to rise, with many of the injured taken to hospital in a serious condition, an official said.
Such tragedies, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said, should move the world to address "the underlying problem" – despair. The National Institute of Migration said it was working to identify the dead, pay for funerals and repatriate bodies.
