JAKARTA: Amid allegations of sexual harassment at Indonesia’s Miss Universe beauty pageant, Jakarta police have confirmed that a police probe is underway after a finalist on Monday filed a police report.
Then on Monday, a beauty pageant finalist with the initial ‘N’ filed a police report addressed to PT Capella Swastika Karya which currently holds the Miss Universe license in Indonesia. Ms Anggraini and the National Director of MUID West Java, Rizky Ananda Musa, said that the police report was strengthened by three additional allegations of sexual harassment at the beauty pageant.
"We were also quite surprised to see the photos taken by them, and even more so, after the body checking pictures were taken and there were men. She revealed that she then posed in front of the camera and that a crew member had touched her private parts.This includes Ms Musa, Mr Rio, Ms Giovany and MUID chief executive officer Eldwen Wang.Commentary: Miss Universe national costumes may make us snigger - but that could be the pointAt a press conference on Monday, Mr Rio confirmed that the nude photos of the MUID finalists have been deleted."Indeed we saw it ourselves that it was deleted.
