Chinese actor Wang Xing, who went missing in Thailand after believing he had secured a film role, has been found safe in Myanmar.

Wang Xing, a 31-year-old Chinese actor, was found safe in Myanmar on January 7 after disappearing in Thailand on January 3. He had travelled to Bangkok believing he had secured a film role, but lost contact with his girlfriend, Jia Jia, after arriving at Mae Sot, a city near the Myanmar border. Jia Jia first appealed for help on Weibo, revealing that Wang Xing had received information from a Thai entertainment company about a successful audition.

According to text messages shared by Jia Jia, Wang Xing was told a vehicle would take him directly from the airport to the film set. However, after reaching Mae Sot, he sent an SOS message and became unreachable. Jia Jia and Wang Xing's brother sought help from authorities in Shanghai, the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, and China's Consulate-General in Chiangmai. They also travelled to Bangkok to file a police report with assistance from the embassy. Celebrities, including Gong Jun, Shu Qi, Talu Wang, Qin Lan, and Lay Zhang, shared Jia Jia's post, hoping for Wang Xing's safe return
