The A’s stayed in Northern California with their second pick of the MLB first-year player draft, selecting former Palo Alto High School outfielder Henry Bolte in the second round at No. 56 overall.
“There’s some development needed with the bat, but if that comes … he’s truly the kind of guy who could develop into a five-tool player.” Bolte, per some scouting reports, has some issues to iron out with his swing. But the A’s felt they were getting value for the selection.
