MANILA - Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chairman Danilo Lim said he may support giving emergency powers to President Rodrigo Duterte if this will help speed up the completion of infrastruc
ture projects meant to decongest the metropolis.
Asked about his stance on emergency powers for Pres. Duterte to solve Metro Manila traffic, MMDA chairman Lim says he will support the proposal if it would speed infra work, decongestion in the metro pic.twitter.com/ILwuQDsMQqFreshman Sen. Francis Tolentino, Lim's predecessor as MMDA chair, filed a bill that described traffic jams as a national emergency and proposed the appointment of a traffic czar along with the creation of a traffic crisis action and mobilization.
For the President's 4th SONA, Lim said a bigger group which includes the MMDA is handling the preparations for traffic.
