A larger share of new Build-to-Order flats will be set aside for second-time home buyers, starting from the next sales exercise. Allocation quotas will be raised by five percentage points for those buying three-room flats and larger.
National Development Minister Desmond Lee said the move is not likely to impact first-timer families. This is part of his ministry's measures to ensure a wide range of affordable housing for Singaporeans with different budgets. At the same time, the resale market is expected to ease. July's BTO sales exercise will see the launch of more than 5,000 flats islandwide. Alexandra Anand reports.
