A 24-year-old victim was taken to University Hospitals after being stabbed in the neck during an altercation at Club Honey Do in Cleveland.
CLEVELAND, Ohio – A Cleveland woman is accused of stabbing a nightclub patron who fought her daughter in the club’s parking lot.
Tanika Chappell-Payne, 43, was charged this week with felonious assault in Cleveland Municipal Court. She is not in custody. Prosecutors say that on the evening of May 5, Chappell-Payne got into a confrontation with a 24-year-old woman at Club Honey Do on St. Clair Avenue in the city’s Glenville neighborhood. Chappell-Payne wanted the woman to fight her daughter, and the two briefly fought in the parking lot, according to an arrest warrant.
After the fight, Chappell-Payne stomped on the woman’s cellphone, police say. As the woman bent to pick it up, Chappell-Payne cut her on the neck, causing a severe, 6-inch laceration that required numerous stitches, according to the warrant and a police report. If you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
