Speaking in parliament on Wednesday , he noted the suggestion that Singapore needs a new economic playbook, saying this is precisely what the Economic Strategy Review seeks to address. It recognises that the assumptions underpinning Singapore's success are changing; its response is not simply to repeat the strategy of the past six decades but to upgrade it, he said.
Mr Saktiandi pointed out that many of the ESR’s recommendations have already begun to find expression in government policy, suggesting there is considerable common ground between the aspiration in the motion and the direction Singapore is already taking.
