El Gerente General de WTVJ y ex Presidente de la Cadena Telemundo, Don Browne, falleció a la edad de 80 años. Tenía cáncer cerebral.. “Falleció lamentablemente Don Brown, quien fue Presidente de Telemundos Communications Group de 2005 a 2009.

Para Browne, el modelo de establecer una programación original se dio porque su visión era poner fin a la dependencia de estudios extranjeros para su programación en el horario estelar, transformando por completo la cadena y convirtiéndola en un modelo de negocios en el que producía su propio contenido, mientras se mantenía a la vanguardia de la tecnología.

Browne, quien nació en Toms River, Nueva Jersey y asistió a la Universidad de Carolina del Sur gracias a una beca de fútbol, inició en esa casa de estudios su camino al periodismo mientras amaba también los deportes. Don Browne también fue el responsable de Telemundo Internacional y Telemundo Cable, así como de las iniciativas, ventas y marketing de Medios Digitales de Telemundo. Durante su gestión como presidente, la cadena Telemundo se destacó por generar un alto rating de sus producciones que estaban hechas para latinos en los Estados Unidos.
