Paterson High School's student-run bank, The Castle 2.0, reopened just before the start of the holiday season.
., at John F. Kennedy High School in Paterson after it had been closed for nearly three years.
“She worked with Pamela Powell, who was a principal at Kennedy High School at the time, to establish The Castle in order to help teach students financial literacy and to give students interested in a career in banking a chance to get practical work experience before they graduated high school,” Shafer said.
“The interns’ duties/responsibilities include arriving on time for duty in proper uniform, receiving on-the-job training until they can complete deposit and withdrawal transactions on their own and to also serve as marketers and advocates for The Castle 2.0 by conducting in-class presentations and informing staff and students of the various services that the credit union offers,” Shafer said.
