Tyjier Summers, 27, of Old Bridge, pleaded guilty to first-degree armed robbery of a pizza delivery driver.
A Middlesex County man has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for the gunpoint robbery of a pizza delivery driver four years ago in Perth Amboy, authorities said Monday.
Tyjier Summers, 27, of Old Bridge, pleaded guilty in January to first-degree armed robbery and was sentenced last week in Superior Court of Middlesex County. The sentence will be served consecutive to a 12-year term Summers received in 2019 for prior robbery offenses, and Summers must serve 85% of his sentence before being eligible for parole, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said in a statement.
The delivery driver was robbed about 11 p.m. on May 13, 2019. The victim told police he was delivering pizza to a home on Rector Street when a man fitting Summers’ description approached him with a handgun, which was later recovered, authorities said.
