The Hunterdon Central Regional High School school board is investigating a Twitter account allegedly linked to one of its members that posted anti-transgender statements.
The school district is also facing a second lawsuit filed by a school security guard who took at photo of a Women’s History Month display at the high school featuring transgender women that appeared on the Twitter account.
Petersen and Tanko are both represented by attorney Ron Berutti of Murray-Nolan Berutti, a firm specializing in constitutional law issues. “Our mission requires us to ensure that we take care of each of our students, and we will continue to do all that we need to do in order to meet that obligation,” the statement said.
Two days later, the school board announced it was launching an investigation into the account. The account was deactivated for a few days following the announcement, but it has since returned and been made private.
