The New Jersey State Police trooper was flown to a hospital Tuesday afternoon, a spokesman said.
The trooper was in a parked police vehicle on the side of the road with the emergency lights activated helping at the scene of a vehicle crash on County Road 655 in Franklin Township when the trooper’s car was hit from the rear by a Chevrolet Equinox shortly before 4 p.m., according to Trooper Charles Marchan, a state police spokesman.
The trooper suffered non-life threatening injuries while the Chevrolet driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries, Marchan said.
