The National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) has activated the Central PKOB to coordinate and manage flood response efforts, including rescue operations and victim management. The agency is working to mobilize resources and assets to address the immediate needs in affected areas, particularly in Kelantan and Terengganu, where severe flooding is ongoing.

The National Disaster Management Agency ( NADMA ) has initiated the Central Disaster Operations Control Centre (PKOB) to coordinate and monitor flood response efforts, including rescue operations and victim management . NADMA reported today that the central PKOB has been activated to oversee the coordination of state PKOBs managing the ongoing flood situation.

The agency is managing coordination among assets and logistical requirements, arranging for the deployment of rescue teams, and addressing cross-state needs. As the number of victims in Kelantan has surged, the state PKOB has requested additional collapsible tents (C-Tents) for Temporary Relief Centres (PPS), and the Social Welfare Department has requested an extra 50,000 units of retort food for distribution at the PPS. The Special Malaysian Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (SMART) has also been deployed to assist in search and rescue operations, particularly in Kelantan. In light of severe weather forecasts predicting heavy rains in Kelantan and Terengganu, NADMA has mobilized all available resources to prepare for potential further flooding. According to the latest report from the NADMA National Disaster Control Centre (NDCC), 80,589 people from 24,647 families have been evacuated across seven states, with four fatalities recorded in Kelantan, Terengganu, and Sarawak. Twenty-seven districts are affected, and 467 PPS have been activated
