NASCAR overhauls its flawed appeals process.

NASCAR has made a few major changes to its appeals process, altering how members of the National Motorsport Appeals Panel can adjust point penalties in rulings and adding a stipulation that the series can choose to publish the reasoning behind such adjustments.

Under these new rules, panelists hearing specific appeals can only adjust a penalty within the ranges assigned by NASCAR according to the severity of the infraction.
