. The new restaurant serving dinner and weekend brunch is Passerella’s second location after last summer’s launch of the Italian restaurant at The Boardwalk at Towne Lake in Cypress. The new restaurant at 6011 Washington takes over Gr8 Plate’s The Union Kitchen which closed in July 2022.“We love the Rice Military neighborhood and its vibrant energy and diversity,” said Paul Miller who owns Gr8 Plate with his wife Doris Miller.
The 5,000-square-foot restaurant with seating for 250 and a patio that can accommodate 120, was designed by Doris Miller and built by J. Stone Construction. Passerella Italiano is open Tuesday through Thursday 4 to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 4 to 10 p.m., and Sunday 4 to 9 p.m.; happy hour daily 4 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday brunch coming in a few weeks with Italian-inspired traditional brunch dishes.
