Investigators say they now know where accused gunman Brenton Tarrant was heading when he was apprehended after two mass killings in Christchurch

CHRISTCHURCH, New Zealand—Accused killer Brenton Tarrant was on his way to a third target when he was apprehended by police roughly 21 minutes after they were alerted to the shooting at the Al Noor mosque, investigators believe.

On Wednesday, Police Commissioner Mike Bush lowered the time it took for officers to arrest the alleged shooter from an earlier estimate of within 36 minutes, and said authorities now think he planned another attack after the mass killings at Al Noor and the Linwood Islamic Centre in Christchurch.
