Newly released police records show what happened inside the Evil Olive Bar the night City Councilman Clayton Perry was involved in a drunk hit-and-run crash.
In response to an open records request by the Express-News, the San Antonio Police Department released security videos from the Evil Olive and the Bill Miller restaurant that night, as well as several police reports.
The bar’s management decline to comment on the incident. Perry did not reply to a message seeking comment. Bartenders told investigators that Perry was a regular. They also said he was"cocky because of his position” and not well-liked by the staff, the police report said. He had a reputation for “making his rounds” around the bar to get free drinks from others, one bartender said. When Perry pulled up to the restaurant at 8:51 p.m., the 17-year-old cashier working the drive-thru window told police, Perry had extended arms out through the open driver's side window. The cashier said she could smell the alcohol on Perry as he repeatedly told her: “I love you. I came here for you.”
