The Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) sealed offices and impounded some motorcycles when it raided unlicensed and illegal courier and logistics operations
Mr. Dotun Shonde, the General Manager, Courier and Logistics Regulatory Department of the NIPOST, explained that the main goal of the exercise was to sanitise the sector infiltrated by unlicensed and illegal operators nationwide.
He added that unethical sharp practices like price undercutting, pilfering, broaching, damages, loss and dumping of customers’ items, poaching and subletting of operating licenses were practised, with a mountain of public complaints about customers being duped or obtaining money from them under false pretences, no traceable office address nor registered brand name.
