Nome firefighters were forced to demolish the Bering Sea Bar & Grill after it caught fire during Western Alaska's weekend storm, with one witness saying the blaze was “sending embers flying all over town.”

The Bering Sea Bar and Grill in Nome was demolished after catching fire in a storm on Sept. 17, 2022.

Firefighters demolished the building Saturday evening to keep the fire from spreading to other buildings.
