Conveniently released just hours after Congress passed a $1.7 trillion spending bill that only weakened border security, the November Southwest Land Border Encounters number should put to rest any claims from the open-borders Left that use of Title 42 as an immigration enforcement policy actually increases illegal border crossings.
Now let’s look at the most recent Southwest Border Encounters numbers and compare them to past reports. In November 2021, after President Joe Biden created numerous loopholes to Title 42 enforcement, 174,845 immigrants were arrested crossing the southern border, and just 51% of them were denied entry through Title 42.
So, contra everything the open-borders Left tells you, the more often Title 42 is used to deny immigrants entry, the fewer that come. The less Title 42 is used to deny immigrants entry, the more immigrants come.
