New South Wales Treasurer Matt Kean says the state will be signing up to the UN COP26 declaration on transitioning to net zero emissions cars by 2040.
“I’ve already signed the document, and we’re just working through with DFAT to get that formalised,” he told Sky News Australia.
“New South Wales will be a participant in this, in fact, because of the policies we’ve put in place – we’re already well on target to hit those ambitious targets set by the COP.”
