NSW will further ease COVID-19 restrictions from this Friday, with cafes restaurants, playgrounds and outdoor pools making the cut for early reopening

As of 8pm on Friday, there were 501 active cases in NSW and 2504 people have recovered, while 46 people have died. On Saturday Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt said it was important to get Australians back to work because of the major mental health implications of an economic downturn."It’s firstly to help with their jobs and their aspirations and their personal economic security, but also to help with their mental health," Mr Hunt said. "It's a deeply human reason to assist people to get back to work.
NSW chief medical officer Kerry Chant said NSW needed to maintain high rates of testing, physical distancing, handwashing and staying home with even slight symptoms of coronavirus.
