Por lanzamiento, la ruta Rapid 227 de MTS —que viaja entre Otay Mesa e Imperial Beach— será gratuita hasta el 31 de octubre
El primer servicio de autobuses eléctricos del Sistema Metropolitano de Transporte en la región de San Diego operará a partir de esta semana muy cerca de la frontera. Este domingo dio inició el servicio en la ruta Rapid 227 que transita entre Otay Mesa, Nestor e Imperial Beach. Este nuevo servicio contará con doce autobuses eléctricos. Por su lanzamiento, dicha ruta será gratuita hasta el martes 31 de octubre, anunciaron autoridades de MTS.
“La ruta Rapid 227 significa un mejor servicio de autobús para el sur del condado y los viajeros binacionales. Con su lanzamiento, MTS ofrecerá más de 600 horas adicionales de servicio entre la frontera e Imperial Beach en comparación con el servicio existente”, dijo Stephen Whitburn, presidente de MTS y regidor de la ciudad de San Diego. “La ruta también contará con autobuses eléctricos nuevos, más limpios y más silenciosos.
