Subway shooter Frank James pleads guilty for wounding 10 in Sunset Park
last year, sparking terror underground and leaving 10 commuters injured, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to the gruesome attack. hitting him with 10 counts of committing a terrorist attack or other violence against a mass transportation system over the April 12 mass shooting.
James allegedly traveled to Brooklyn from an Airbnb in Philadelphia and boarded the Manhattan-bound N train with a smoke bomb, gas mask and handgun all in tow, federal prosecutors charged. As the train moved between 59th Street and 36th Street stations, the smoke bomb in James’ bag let off, authorities said. James then donned the mask and opened fire.
No one was killed in the incident, but left the platform at 36th Street a bloody mess strewn with bodies. James fled and was only captured after a 30-hour manhunt that culminated with the shooter calling Crime Stoppers on himself, leading to his arrest.
