The COVID-19 growth rate in the National Capital Region is now at –7%, with the region expecting to see a steady decline in new cases as it remains at low-risk for the coronavirus, the independent OCTA Research group says.

In a tweet, OCTA fellow Dr. Guido David said the NCR recorded an average of 379 new cases from Nov. 11 to 17, which is lower than the 407 cases from Nov. 4 to 10, resulting in a negative growth rate.

Meanwhile, NCR’s reproduction number, or the number of people that can be infected by a person in a particular population, was at 0.5 last Nov. 14, OCTA said. Medical experts have reiterated that the reproduction number should be at one or less, to say that community transmission is decreasing. 11.18.21 NCR one week growth rate becomes negative again at -7%. 7-Day average decreased from 407 to 379.
