The deputy was in critical condition, Gonzalez said, after shots were fired at Liquid Lounge, a nightclub in southwest Houston. Later Sunday morning, Gonzalez said in an update that the deputy was in fair condition and expected to survive.“Please keep our deputy in your prayers,” Gonzalez wrote in a social media post.
Details were scarce early Monday. It wasn't immediately clear whether the off-duty deputy was working in a security capacity or just visiting the nightclub.
